Applying For Photograph Size

Note: The photo requirements are very strict.. Please follow the following instructions accordingly:

Do's and Don'ts for a Proper photograph

The photographs must be:

  1. 3.5cm X 4.5cm
  2.  close up of head and top of shoulders so that face takes up 70-80% of the photograph
  3.  in sharp focus and clear
  4. of high quality with no marks
  5. The photographs must:

  6. Show looking directly at the camera
  7. Show skin tones naturally
  8. Have appropriate brightness and contrast at high resolution

Photographs to be taken with a digital camera must be high quality colour

    Style and lighting
    The photographs must:

  1. be colour neutral show the eyes open and
  2. clearly visible—no hair across the eyes
  3. show facing square on to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted, and showing both edges of the face clearly
  4. be taken with a plain light-coloured background
  5. be taken with uniform lighting and not show shadows or flash
  6. reflections on the face and no red eye

Glasses and head covers
If wearing glasses:

  1. the photograph must show the eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible,
  2. avoid heavy frames—lighter framed glasses to be worn)
  3. make sure that the frames do not cover any part of the eyes.

Do and Dont

Head coverings:

  1. are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges
  2. of the face must be clearly shown.

The photographs must:

  1. show alone (no chair backs, toys or other people visible), looking at the camera with a neutral expression and the mouth closed.
