Conference Visa

Who can apply?

Visa to attend conference/seminar/workshop can be issued if it is being organized in India by a Ministry or Department of the Government of India, State Governments, Public Sector undertakings, Central Educational Institutions, Public funded Universities or an organization owned and controlled by Government of India State Governments, United Nations or its specialized agencies.
The conference/seminar/workshop sponsored by a NGO will subject to further scrutiny.

Required Documents

  1. Original passport with minimum 6 months validity and two blank pages.
  2. Visa application form, should be filled out in English at http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa, printed out and signed twice: under the photo and after the declaration.
  3. One good quality color photograph 3.5cm x 4.5cm.
  4. Copies of the relevant pages of the Internal Passport (front page, the page where the address is mentioned, the page about previously issued international passports).
  5. Copy of the photo page of the International Passport.
  6. If applicant has second valid international Passport he has to provide copy of all pages of Passport with original Passport.
  7. Up and dawn tickets (just a reservation).
  8. Confirmation of booking (just a reservation).
  9. A letter of invitation from the concerned company in India with signature and stamp.
  10. Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation or Registration.
  11. Permission from the Ministry of Home (Internal) and Foreign Affairs (for holding Conference).
  12. Original letter of petition from Russian company in English. The letter must be on the letter head of company with original stamp and signature. In the letter of invitation from Indian company and in the letter of petition from the Russian company must be specified: period of visa, number of entries, passport's details of applicant.
  13. Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation or Registration of the company with English translation (not notary)
  14. If the applicant has two citizenships he should provide copy of second passport.


Citizens of other countries should provide the following additional documents:

  1. A copy of migration card, a copy of registration certificate / visa, as well as evidence of their work in the territory of the Russian Federation for more than 2 years. If the applicant in the last two years living in Russian Federation , He/She has provide copies of supporting documents (visa / registration, work permit, residence permit, etc.).
  2. Additional Form for Foreigners.


The deadline for issuance of visas for Russian citizenship is 5 working days (may be more than five working days it depend on Embassy).
The deadline for issuance of visas for foreigners is 10 working days (may be more than five working days depend on Embassy).

Application for submission for visa may be by applicant or through accredited travel Agency or by a Notarized Power of Attorney.

As part of further liberalization, simplification and rationalization of visa regime in India to facilitate greater movement & interaction between the people of the two countries, multiple entry, Tourist and Business visa for a period of 5 years can be granted to the Russian nationals.

The new rates for the Visa Service charge, for all types of visa is as follows with effect from July 20st 2022.

In addition to the above, Valid Indian visas can be transferred at the rate of Russian Rubles 2330.

Processing Time

The Processing time  is a normal  processing time, however this processing time is dependent on various factors, such as city of application, place of previous issue of your old passport, your current visa status etc, and may vary from time to time. Processing time mentioned here, do not include delivery time taken by courier companies. Incomplete applications will lead to delay of processing time and applicants will need to comply with any changes in the procedure that may occur during this time.
You are requested to make your travel arrangements only after receiving relevant service. BLS/EOI/CGI will not be liable for any claims of inconvenience or penalties should applicant need to make changes to their travel plans owing to the delays and/or any inconvenience caused due to any rejections.
The normal processing time is five working days for all types of visas including Business visa provided all documents are in order. However, issuance of visa to foreign nationals is subject to procedures and will take longer.
